Install a RAID flash power module (upper tray)

The upper RAID flash power module is in the upper compute tray or optional storage tray that is accessed from the front of the server. Insert the RAID flash power module in its carrier; then, connect the cable.

CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Complete the following steps to install an upper tray RAID flash power module:

  1. Insert the end of the RAID flash power module into its carrier on the compute tray or storage tray.
  2. Connect the cable to the RAID flash power module.
  3. Rotate the RAID flash power module down into the carrier until the tab clicks in place to secure it.

After you have installed the upper RAID flash power module:

  1. Make sure that all cables are correctly routed. See Cable routing for drives and Cable routing for common components.

  2. Install the upper fan cage. See Install a fan cage (upper tray).

  3. Turn the tray right-side up.

  4. If you removed one or more system boards or a compute system board filler from a compute tray, install the system boards or system board filler. See Install a system board.

  5. Install the upper compute tray or storage tray. See Install a compute tray or Install the storage tray (fully removed).

  6. Install the front cover. See Install the front cover.
