Removing the ServeRAID N2125 SAS/SATA Host Bus Adapter

Use this information to remove the ServeRAID N2125 SAS/SATA Host Bus Adapter.

To remove the ServeRAID N2125 SAS/SATA Host Bus Adapter, complete the following steps:

  1. Read the safety information and installation guidelines, see Safety and Installation guidelines.
  2. Turn off the server (see Turning off the server) and all attached peripheral devices. Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external cables as necessary to replace the device.
  3. Remove the top cover (see Removing the server top cover).
  4. Remove the adapter from the system board.
    1. Open the PCIe retention latch.
    2. Disconnect the signal cables from the existing adapter.
    3. Carefully grasp the adapter by the edges and pull it out of the connector on the system board.
    4. Go tostep 6.
  5. Remove the adapter from the PCIe riser-card assembly.
    1. Disconnect the cables from the existing adapter.
    2. Carefully grasp the riser-card assembly at the blue touch points and pull it up until the riser-card assembly disengages from the connector on the system board and set it aside.
    3. Open the PCIe retention latch.
    4. Carefully grasp the adapter by the edges and pull it out of the riser-card assembly.
  6. If you are instructed to return the SAS/SATA adapter, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
