Remove a power adapter (Rack mount)

Follow instructions in this section to remove power adapters from the enclosure.

CAUTION

The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.

Attention

• Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.

• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the server.

• If the server is installed in a rack, slide the server out on its rack slide rails to gain access to the top cover, or remove the server from the rack. See Remove a node from the rack.

Procedure

1. Make preparation for this task.
   1. Remove the middle top cover. See Remove the middle top cover.
   2. Remove the rear top cover. See Remove the rear top cover.
   3. Remove the air baffle. See Remove the air baffle.
2. Remove the crossbar.
   1. Loosen the two captive screws that secure the crossbar.
   2. Hold the crossbar and remove it from the enclosure.

3. Remove the power cable.
   1. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to loosen the screw that lock the power cable.
   2. Disengage the power cable from the node.

4. Remove the power adapter.
   1. Loosen the two captive screws on the both sides of the power adapter bracket with a screw driver.
   2. Lift the power adapter bracket out of the enclosure.
   3. Carefully lift the power adapter and remove it from the enclosure.
