Install rear hot-swap M.2 interposer and drive assembly

Follow the instructions in this section to install rear hot-swap M.2 interposer and drive assembly.

About this task

Attention

  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.

  • Keep static-sensitive parts in their static-protective packages until installation to prevent exposure to static electricity. Handle the parts with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding systems. Place the parts on a static-protective surface.

Procedure

  1. Assemble the M.2 interposer and drive, see Assemble the rear M.2 interposer and drive.
  2. Install the hot-swap M.2 interposer and drive assembly to the chassis.

    1. Ensure that the drive tray handle is in the open position. Slide the drive into the drive bay until it snaps into position.
    2. Close the drive tray handle to lock the drive in place.
After you finish

  1. Complete the parts replacement. See Complete the parts replacement.
