Removing a RAID adapter remote battery or flash power module from the server
Use this information to remove a RAID adapter remote battery or flash power module from the server.
To remove an optional ServeRAID adapter remote battery, complete the following steps:
- Read the safety information that begins in Safety and Installation guidelines.
- Turn off the server (see Turning off the server) and all attached peripheral devices.
- Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external cables from the server.
- Carefully turn the server on its side so that it is lying flat, with the cover facing up.AttentionDo not allow the server to fall over.
- Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see Removing the left-side cover).
- See the documentation that comes with the adapter for any cabling instructions and information about jumper or switch settings. (It might be easier for you to route cables before you install the adapter.)
- Pull the release tab outward and unlock the battery retention clip.
- Disconnect the battery cable from the battery cable connector on the battery.
- Lift the battery up to remove the battery from the battery holder.
