Removing the video and USB breakout signal cable

Use this information to remove the video and USB breakout signal cable.

To remove the video and USB breakout signal cable, complete the following steps:

  1. Read the safety information that begins on Safety and Installation guidelines.
  2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables, if necessary.
  3. Remove the front video and USB breakout cable (see Removing the front video and USB breakout cable).
  4. Remove the cover (see Removing the cover).
  5. Remove the bezel (see Removing the bezel).
  6. Remove the two screws that secure the KVM assembly to the side of the chassis, then remove the KVM assembly.
    Note
    Use the hex screw driver to remove the two screws.

  7. Disconnect the front video and USB breakout signal cable from the system board.

  8. Remove the SAS, power and operator information panel cables from the cable clips and move them aside. The power cable is present when the third backplane is installed in the server.

  9. Remove the video and USB breakout signal cable from the cable clip; then, slide the cable out from the chassis.

  10. If you are instructed to return the breakout cable, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
