Install the internal CFF adapter

Use this information to install the internal CFF adapter.

About this task

Attention

  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.

  • Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See Power off the server.

  • Keep static-sensitive parts in their static-protective packages until installation to prevent exposure to static electricity. Handle the parts with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding systems. Place the parts on a static-protective surface.

Procedure

  1. Touch the static-protective package that contains the internal CFF adapter to any unpainted surface on the outside of the server. Then, take the internal CFF adapter out of the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
  2. Align the notches on the tray with the pins on the chassis, place down the internal CFF adapter, and slightly slide it as shown to secure it on the chassis.

  3. Connect cables to the internal RAID adapter.
