Removing the hot-swap backplane in the optional rear hard disk drive cage
Use this information to remove the hot-swap backplane in the optional rear hard disk drive cage.
To remove the hot-swap backplane in the optional rear hard disk drive cage, complete the following steps.
- Read the safety information that begins in Safety and Installation guidelines.
- Turn off the server (see Turning off the server) and all attached peripheral devices. Disconnect all power cords; then, disconnect all external cables from the server.
- Remove the server top cover (see Removing the server top cover).
- Remove all hot-swap hard disk drives in the optional rear hard disk drive cage (see Removing a hot-swap hard disk drive).
- Lift the backplane out of the optional rear hard disk drive cage.
- Disconnect the LED signal, SATA signal and power cables from the backplane. Make note of which cable is connected to which connector.
- If you are instructed to return the backplane, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
