This topic provides thermal rules for the server.

Server models with front drive bays only
Server models with rear drive bays
Server models with GPUs

Note

For the frequency of supported DIMMs, refer to Memory.
When ThinkSystem 256GB TruDDR5 4800MHz (8Rx4) 3DS RDIMM-A v1 is installed, the following requirements should be met:
- Ambient temperature at sea level ≤ 25°C
- CPU power ≤300W
- AOC ≤ 25 GB
- The performance fan and performance heat sink are installed.
- The front backplane, rear backplane, rear GPU are not installed.
When ThinkSystem Cornelis CN5000 QSFP112 1port OPA Adapter is installed, the following requirements should be met:
- For the server using the performance heat sink or the Lenovo Neptune Liquid to Air Module:
  - If the processor (TDP ≤ 300 watts) is installed, the ambient temperature must be limited to 35°C or lower, and the performance fan must be installed.
  - If the processor (TDP ≤ 400 watts) is installed, the ambient temperature must be limited to 30°C or lower, and the performance fan must be installed.
- For the server using Lenovo Neptune(TM) Processor Direct Water Cooling Module:
  - The ambient temperature must be limited to 30°C or lower, and the standard fan must be installed.
  - The ambient temperature must be limited to 35°C or lower, and the performance fan must be installed.

Abbreviations used in tables below are defined as follows:

Note This line of thermal rule is applicable to the server installed with the processor 9555 / 9555P / 9565 / 9645 / 9655 / 9655P / 9745 / 9825 / 9845. This line of thermal rule is applicable to the server installed with the processor 9175F / 9275F / 9375F / 9475F / 9575F. ThinkSystem 256GB TruDDR5 4800MHz (8Rx4) 3DS RDIMM-A v1 can only be used when the performance fan is installed. If 9184X / 9384X / 9175F / 9275F / 9375F is installed and under UEFI Maximum Performance Mode, the processor temperature might reach 95°C in all configurations, and the processor frequency will be impacted but still meet AMD specifications.
